PAULE KA
fall/winter 2008/9

"The wardrobe of an artist or writer influences itself from that of its heroine… "

PAULE KA fall/winter 2008/9In the 20th year of his label "Paule Ka" (founded 1988) French couturier Serge Cajfinger was inspired by the films ‘Sue Lost in Manhattan’ to ‘Grey Gardens’.

Serge Cajfinger celebrates timeless chic with a summay of all decades and their emotions in one collection that pays tribute to the eccentric, spiritual and sensual personalities of the likes of Faye Dunaway or Katherine Hepburn.

You can find that Serge Cajfinger plays with the contrast between poor materials and luxurious clothes, purity and eccentricity: the "Balaclavas" (mask with militarian origin) and gloves are rich decorated as for a princess of the Aztecs. They are combined with a raincoat in alpaca wool and sandals with 10cm heels. Wear the sandals with bi-coloured and bi-material knee high socks! The new it-bag this year: the “Cabas Ka” is designed to tie around the waist.

Where fashion and music play similar tones and rhythms

The new music CD "Paule Ka loves Brazil" is a compilation that translates the emotion that permeates Paule Ka's style.

PAULE KA fall/winter 2008/9Serge Cajfinger imagined the rhythmic beats, the colours of his Brazilian childhood and released in March/April 2008 a CD with 15 key tracks from the contemporary Brazilian music scene under the title "Paule Ka Loves Brazil".

Serge Cajfinger, who grew up between Brazil and France, rediscovers on this CD one of Brazil's most celebrated tunes by Chico Buarque "Essa Moca Ta Diferente" remixed electro style by Bossacucanova, the seminal band led by Martinho Da Lua, Marcio Menescal and Alexandre Moreira. Also included is Azymuth's up-beat Jazz Fusion. The delicious voice of Cibelle. The samba soul of Funk Como le Gusta. The eclectic soundscape mix of samba, forro and drum n'bass by Riovolt, and the cosmopolitan tropicalist sound of Bebel Gilberto, daughter of the famous singer Miucha and musician Joao Gilberto. www.pauleka.com
