The Wizard of Oz Ruby Slipper Collection premiered in September 2008 at the New York Fashion Week and will travel to the Art Basel Miami Beach (4-8 December 2008) and many other planned stops through 2009 until the complete, original Wizard of Oz Ruby Slipper Collection will be auctioned in fall 2009 with the proceeds benefiting the Elisabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation www.pedaids.org.

The Wizard of Oz is one of the most beloved and iconic motion pictures of all time filled with timeless sentiments and values cherished by multiple generations. Originally released in 1939, more than one billion consumers have experienced the classic story of Dorothy and friends in the Land of Oz.

In Adrian's biography on imdb.com/name/nm0012424/bio you can read: "Never won an Academy Award, not even for his costumes for "The Wizard of Oz", yet he is considered by most as Hollywood's greatest costume designer." ... and that there is a simple reason for this "... Did not get the opportunity to win an Oscar because the first Academy Award for Costume Design wasn't handed out before 1948, ..."

Warner Bros. has invited in partnership with Swarovski the top shoe designers/labels to reinterpret Dorothy’s iconic Ruby Slippers for modern times.
