Preview of costumes by Ursula Kudrna X Swarovski for Wolfgang A. Mozart's 'The Magic Flute' at the upcoming Salzburger Festspiele (20 July - 30 August)

At the online programme of Salzburger Festspiele, almost every scheduled day of the performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 'Die Zauberflöte' (The Magic Flute) is already sold out (fast checked today; on 4 August, the opera will be broadcasted by the TV-stations ORF and Arte). US-American director Lydia Steier stages the opera as fantastic circus world with narrator played by Austrian actor Klaus Maria Brandauer and crystal shining costumes designed by Vienna-born Ursula Kudrna (studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna) who collaborated with Swarovski for the development of the outfits of well-known roles like the Queen of the Night, Sarastro, Papagena or Tamino as well as new figures like 'Poodle Checkers' (closer view at last mentioned costume at the image below left). The extraordinary designs received already attention by Austrian daily news publications such as Salzburger Nachrichten (with video interviews).
