Peace philosopher inspires women's wear collection

From 9 - 12 August 2011, the new spring/summer 2011/12 (trans-seasonal SS2012) collections from more than 40 labels were presented at showrooms and on the catwalk during the BAFweek - Buenos Aires Fashion Week in Argentina.

The Argentinian label 'Juana de Arco' for example launched the new women's wear summer collection 2012 with the title 'Jai Gurudev'. The title references the Indian peace-philosopher Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (born 1956) and especially the foundation 'Art of Living' (education, women empowerment...; headquarter in Bangalore) which was founded by him 30 years ago in 1981.

The pieces, mostly dresses - inspired by Indian saris, are made of bright colored fabrics with applications such as sequins on the paisley-feathers of peacocks (national bird of India, symbol for beauty and love), luck-bringing elephants, and one of the dresses is printed with a photo of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar who stands for a violence-free society!

The fashion label Juana de Arco is based in San Nicolás (below Rosario, Santa Fe) and sells its fashion worldwide (Tokyo, Germany, Greece, Uruguay...).
