'Official' music videos and fan productions

The NRW-Forum Düsseldorf opens its online exhibition 'Internet killed the Video Star' - dedicated especially to music videos, with a vernissage on 14 April in the 'real space' of the forum. The exhibition curators compare the time of the beginning of music videos on the TV-screen (early 1980s; with references to MTV) with today's cultural productions for the web and from web users.

fig. original: The vernissage is not as offline as it seems on the first view: it is announced that models in 'QR Code'-t-shirt will present the works from the NRW-Forum website.

On the opening day, the music will be contributed by German DJ Toulouse Low Trax (member of the electronic group Kreidler), who will play YouTube videos instead of records; probably even following video.

Video: 'Impressions d'Afrique' by Kreidler (Thomas Klein, Andreas Reihse, Detlef Weinrich alias Toulouse Low Trax); video directed by Jörg Langkau (2010). In March 2011, Kreidler's new album 'Tank' was released.
