Mix of tradition and technology, past and future

...seen on 20 August 2013 at the new Y-3 campaign for Fall/Winter 2013/14 which pays homage to the concept behind Yohji Yamamoto's collaborative adidas collection. Looking back and forward in time is the motto of the 'future thrift' collection. The Japanese designer combined traditional design with new technology such as the eye-catching multi-colored geisha-style platform shoes (photo) with sneaker appeal in a collage of materials. 

fig. original: For the campaign, the pieces were shot and filmed in an old warehouse in Manhattan's Lower East Side in front of walls made from raw metal and wood; the ads' luminous, colorful graphics (plain and untouched like a page that is unwritten yet) are focusing the eyes into the right way and highlight the products as focal points in the images.
