Tip for home design inspirations: Private apartment by winner of 'Best of Interior 2020' award Vienna-based studio Labvert and selected other projects presented at new book by publishing house Callwey

The book 'Best of Interior 2020' is brand new on the market; it was released yesterday on 17 September by publishing house Callwey (founded 1884 in Munich, Germany). The jury headed by the Gruner + Jahr home furnishings & decoration magazine 'Schöner Wohnen' chief editor Bettina Billerbeck selected the interior design of a private apartment by studio Labvert (founded in 2005 by Stephan Vary in Vienna, working worldwide for brands like Dior or Rimowa) after the criteria harmonious, comfortable, contemporary and personal as the winner of this year's 'Best of Interior' award. Especially the interplay between wooden and textile surfaces of the interior in mid-century (1950s, 60s) style convinced the jury such as stated at callwey.de/blog/best-of-interior-2020-and-the-award-goes-to/. Studio Labvert redesigned the Viennese apartment of a cosmopolitan couple as a tailored comfort zone for its owners. Part of the furnishing are pieces like the black leather sofa group (on view at the image) by Wittmann, designed by Johannes Spalt in the 1960s, lounge and office chairs by Vitra, designed by Charles Eames, a rug with stripes of red, light brown and gold designed by the apartment owners themselves as well as artworks by Peter Kogler, Max Piva, Margherita Spiluttini or Michael Dürr.
