Kunsthalle Wien announced the lockdown programme with virtual tours through the current exhibitions such as 'Do Nothing, Feel Everything' with the central theme 'healing' of societies and nature

With the beginning of the lockdown in Austria on Monday this week, museums and cultural events had to close their doors for visitors and canceled their scheduled performances or concerts. The virtual space becomes once again the temporary quarters such as announced by Kunsthalle Wien yesterday in a press release. The art space, which is known for the presentation of works developed from new artistic-scientific approaches, will stay connected with its audience via video tours through the temporarily stopped but ongoing exhibitions like the new, since 18 November running group show 'Do Nothing, Feel Everything' (until 20 February 2022). In context with the lockdown situation, the title of the exhibition may fit perfectly with the forced weakened communication between artists and the public. It's announced that the curators Laura Amann and Aziza Harmel will provide via video tour insights. The exhibition explores new ways of artistic expressions in today's complex world without following comfortable but well-trodden paths of art communication. (Dates of Kunsthalle Wien virtual tours will be shown at kunsthallewien.at/calendar/). 'Healing' is a central term in the communication of the intention and motivation of the curators for the selection of works by a group of internationally working artists such as Chilean artist Patricia Domínguez (born in 1984) whose 'Green Irises' is an investigation of the interdependencies between various cultures meeting in South America and the effects on society and nature.

Video: Artist Patricia Dominguez speaks about the installation 'Green Irises' on occasion of the exhibition of her first UK solo exhibition at Gasworks in 2019. "Chilean artist Patricia Domínguez explores healing practices emerging from the points where many worlds meet, clash and overlap as a result of colonial encounters. Rooted in the artist's ongoing investigation of ethnobotany in South America, her first UK solo exhibition invites the viewer to envision possible futures for humans and plants thriving in the cracks of modernity."
