Preview of the Designforum Vienna exhibition of designs by students of the 'Industrial Design' programme of the University of Applied Sciences Joanneum Graz (20 Jan - 6 Mar 2022)

At fh-joanneum.at/veranstaltung/industrial-design-exhibition-2022/, the first preview of products of the upcoming exhibition of designs by students of the 'Industrial Design' programme of the University of Applied Sciences Joanneum Graz is already published (fast checked today). The exhibition will open on 20 January and can be viewed until 6 March 2022 at the Designforum located at the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna. Graz is Austria's second largest city and the capital of the Austrian federal state Styria. The students of the Industrial Design Institute under the direction of product designer and board member of the Austrian platform 'designaustria' (runs the Designforum) Thomas Feichtner will show objects developed from a holistic view on the production and usage of goods including aspects like the sustainability of materials, socially relevant topics, and changing user experiences under consideration of cultural, social and ecological situations.

One of the main goals of the studies of the design of a wide range of products like autonomous vehicles or sports equipment is the development of products which connect the individual and the cultural identity. "Especially in a globalized world, design is also the search for alternatives, for autonomy and identity. With the 'Industrial Design Exhibition', our students show how design can contribute to a better and more beautiful world," says Thomas Feichtner.
