Salzburg Pfingstfestspiele (Whitsun Festival) Insight: Baroque opera 'Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno' by Georg Friedrich Händel is set into today's fashion, model and music world

Currently, the 'Whitsun Festival' (Pfingstfestspiele) is happening from 21 to 24 May in the city of Salzburg. The opening was celebrated with the opera of Georg Friedrich Händel's oratorio 'Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno' (The Triumph of Time and Disillusion) from 1707 with the libretto by Cardinal Benedetto Pamphilj about the vanity of beauty. The opera was set with stage and costume designs by Gideon Davey into today's fashion, model and music world. Especially the staging as a sort of mirror for the audience of the first opera event after the lockdown in Salzburg received attention from important national and international media publications. Even if the critics differ on the singers' possibly audible stage anxiety, which is believed to be caused by the long lockdown, the descriptions of the fashionable sets are relatively consistent.
