Salzburg Festival fashion tips by a TV-stylist

Tomorrow on 18 July 2014, the Salzburg Festival will begin. Fashionoffice published yesterday an article about the themes of this year's festival with jewellery styling tip; today, find here on this page some pieces from the McArthurGlen Designer Outlets 'Salzburg Festival'-selection and insider tips by expert Alice Juhas who is stylist at the German TV broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1. Even when Fashionoffice prefers an 'anti-authoritarian' approach to fashion, some viewpoints at Alice Juhas' 'Do's and Don'ts'-list could be worth to follow.

Alice Juhas' first list point is entitled 'Dress to impress' and is - contrary to the expectation that a TV-stylist gives under this title advice how to gain with eye-catching outfits the attention of the ones behind the cameras, a basic fashion-knowledge guide such as for the length of a long evening dress (should cover the shoes) or the length of men's trousers (end at the upper side of the heel). The second paragraph is entitled 'Fabrics, Colors and Cuts' - one of the mentioned highlights are dresses made from lace or with lace details which matches the international trends for evening wear this year. Alice Juhas' general tip for Salzburg can be summarized in one word: elegant. The third point of the 'Do's and Don'ts'-list concerns the weather during mid-summer: '35° Celsius in the shadow' is about cooling fabrics (silk), colors (lighter ones aggregate less heat), or that socks are obligatory for men. (It will be interesting how many men will wear no socks after all the sockless Fashion Week Street Style photos which were spread online this year!) The last paragraph is about accessories. Alice Juhas advises that accessories should never compete with each other, they should be consistent. It's the right balance (number, colors) of accessories that make the perfect Salzburg outfit. When festival visitors keep in the framework of these basic rules for elegant styling, there is almost everything allowed - from neon colors to bright statement necklaces.

Pieces from McArthurGlen Designer Outlets' 'Salzburg Festival'-selection, sent under the motto 'Fashion meets Festival'.
