Sorel and Julia Dujmovits

Today, I visited the presentation of Sorel's footwear for the upcoming colder days at Pentahotel in Vienna and met there snowboarder Julia Dujmovits (Olympic gold medalist, 2014 Sotchi). Sorel is the official outfitter of the Austrian ski team.

The entrance of the hotel is a restaurant, bar, lounge area with chill-out zones and huge book shelf with golden framed mirrors. Julia Dujmovits and others tried out shoes; especially the high heel boots 'Medina II' from Sorel's urban fashion line seemed to attract.

Journalists were guided through the exhibited shoes (on view on the photos below) and received additional information about selected items. Highlight of the season 2014/15 is the 'Campus' boot which was developed in cooperation with students and designed for the urban fashion style of city walkers. The Campus boot is available for a 'nicer' price than other shoes of Sorel's FW14/15 collection. (On the image below left, in the middle in curry.)

Sorel's highlight for après ski are the pink/dark red 'Glacy Explorer' boots which are inspired by action sports. Well, they are not my favorites; I would prefer the nature colored leather boots 'Shila' which are an edgy new interpretation of traditional Inuit’s winter footwear (and unfortunately one of the most expensive women's shoes by Sorel this season). Both mentioned après ski items - Glacy Explorer and Shila, are not on view on this page; but you can find them online on sorel.com.
