Ali Mahdavi's first sketch for lingerie pop opera on ice

In early August 2014, Intimissimi unveiled the first sketch by Ali Mahdavi for the 'Intimissimi On Ice – Opera Pop' which will happen on 20 and 21 September at the Arena di Verona - the famous arena in northern Italy is known for opera stagings such as Verdi's 'Aida'.

Intimissimi's production for the stage of the Arena di Verona will combine elements of opera, pop music, ice skating (Carolina Kostner and Stéphane Lambiel) and - how could it be otherwise at an event branded by the name of a lingerie label - fashion. Therefore, the Italian underwear producer collaborates with one of the currently most important fashion photographers Ali Mahdavi who is known for editorial photography, celebrity portraits or advertising campaigns. He is responsible for the costume design of the show.

The pop opera with lingerie pieces is not the first stage production Ali Mahdavi has his hands on; in 2009, he was the artistic director of the Crazy Horse show 'Désirs'.

Alongside to editorial, advertising, celebrity portraits, or cabaret and ice revue productions, Ali Mahdavi (studied Fine Arts at the Royal College of Arts in London) produces art. On the 'Opera Pop on Ice' website, it's announced that Ali Mahdavi's work will be presented at the Multimedia Art Museum in 2015 in Moscow.
