Women's textiles for religious ceremonies

In mid-May 2014, Fashionoffice previewed items of the upcoming exhibition 'Fabrics and Stories – Textiles from the Jewish Museum Collections' which is on show from 18 June until 9 November 2014 at the Jewish Museum Vienna. 'Fabrics and Stories' focuses on the role of women in the religious service and at the synagogue. The exhibition throws light on the textiles women donated through times such as reworked fabrics from wedding dresses for a parochet (Torah curtain).
