Vienna Insight: a special sports table, knowledge game about Europe in a souvenir box, bags from recycled used materials, and screen printed fabrics for home and fitness

Fashionoffice visited the 'Ochs + Esel Wintermarkt' at the new location Creau at the Prater nearby the campus of the University of Economics and Business in Vienna. At the market, various design products are presented this (10, 11 December) and next weekend (17 and 18 December).

One of the showcased products is a special sports table which is so small that it can be easily placed in an office, at home, or it can be taken to the beach or picnic. Fashionoffice tested the table tennis table 'Dish Tennis' - and it's funny to play on it! After short time, the calculation for playing the ball with the table tennis racket on a smaller dimensioned table becomes an automatic routine.

Another good seen at the market is 'Vienna In A Box'. It's a sort of greeting from the city with items like a bag which shows Empress Sissi in a pose known from a poster with the slogan 'We Can Do It' promoting the power and importance of women for society in the 1940s. The makers included even a knowledge card game about facts of countries of the European Union. (Video description of the game in English.)

The bags by 'ab.ag' are made of recycled materials of truck tarpaulins, air mattresses, etc. Each of the bags is unique. What's not on view at the image is the range of accessories like belts and briefcases.

The last image on this page shows parts of the booth of 'Prater&Stern'. The label produces home-interior goods and fitness bags (special yoga bags). The Vienna-based textile workshop was founded by Christiane Wery who was raised in Ottawa (Canada) and lives since around 20 years in Europe. For the screen prints, she is inspired by forms seen in nature.
