Vienna Insight: Wings for Life World Run

Today, more than 12.000 runners have started (at 13.00, local time) in the charity 'Wings for Life World Run' through Vienna; worldwide in sum more than 95.000 people at 34 locations (numbers from the live stream). The run is (at this time 16.40) still streamed live from the locations via wingsforlifeworldrun.com; the winners arrive currently at the finish. In Vienna at kilometer 15 at Prater Hauptallee, a female course marshal dressed in 19th century costume referencing Austrian Empress Sisi was so nice to pose for a photo; at the time of the photo shooting, only the fastest have already passed her. Two cyclists accompanied the 1st Woman of the Viennese run, seen in the height of the entertainment park Wiener Prater. Later, a large group arrived at the Prater Hauptallee; horse carriages, walkers, cyclists took side roads instead of the street which was filled with marathon runners.
