SHOE
MAKER
TO
THE
STARS

Born in 1898 near from Naples SALVATORE FERRAGAMO wanted to become a shoemaker already at young age. In 1914 he followed his brothers and sisters to America. Whilst his brothers took care of repairs, SALVATORE designed and created shoes for the early years of cinema: cowboy boots, Roman and Egyptian sandals, and then elegant models for the stars who started to wear his shoes off set. RUDOLPH VALENTINO, GLORIA SWANSON, and JOAN CRAWFORD were precious ambassadors of the famous FERRAGAMO LOOK.
