19 July 2018 Everything what happened in front and inside the H&M store at Graben in the 1st district of Vienna on this day of the 17th July was fortune - in the meaning of coincidence and luck: It was a fortune that I got an official (and legal) place for parking my bicycle at one of the few racks in the center of the city where bike traffic has grown during the last years. It was a fortune that I decided to buy a gift for one of my family members exactly on this day (no further reason like birthday or anything else) and that I had chosen to begin my search at H&M at Graben; the store is known for the well-selected range including collection pieces which aren't available at many other shops of the Swedish fashion brand. And - the greatest fortune, I found two dresses from the upcoming collection made of textiles with prints from the archives of the British interior (textiles, wallpapers) brand 'GP & J Baker' (founded 1884) like a dessin by William Turner, Art Deco or Oriental bird patterns. The collection is available officially from 2nd August at stores and online. fig.: Two of the three dresses are from the new collection. At the image left, the second (Art Deco) and third (Oriental Bird). The image right shows me at the changing room making a photo of my favorite dress for sending it via phone to my relative. That's the way I buy gifts for my family! Photos captured on 17 July 2018. (Find images of the collection at Vogue.) |
