Selection of jewelry and fashion for Viennese ballrooms

Whatever the Pantone Color of the Year 2019 will be (in the next days we will know), optimistic and nature, flower blossoming tones are among the favorites at Vienna's ballrooms when it's after the impression mediated through jewelry creations by Aenea and Katie g. or gowns seen at one of the city's luxury stores Popp & Kretschmer.

Currently, it's fashionable to mix old and new, vintage and high-tech. The trend can also be found at the poster for the upcoming Vienna Ball of Sciences 2019. The work by Lilly Panholzer is derived from an interplay between contemporary and vintage mid-century styles. The colorful petal-like forms are over-layered by atom symbols which can be interpreted in the context of the depicted dancing women and men as electrifying waltz whirls. The Science Ball selects each year special research themes for prominent presentations; in 2019, it's superfood from regional agricultural products and the impact on health and aging.

fig. below, from left: Blossoming jewelry made of pink sapphires, rubies, white diamonds and emeralds from the 'Masterpiece' collection by Salzburg-based goldsmith house 'Aenea'; the brooch Lilly appears like the snapshot of a flower moved by the wind, the Mangosteen ring is literally blossoming - it can be worn closed as capsule or open such as on view at the image.

The ornamental embroideries of the tulle gown by Zuhair Murad are described by Viennese luxury store 'Popp & Kretschmer' as pattern that makes think of the nature inspired art works by Gustav Klimt.

The moss-like green velvet gown by Talbot Runhof (seen at Popp & Kretschmer) reminds with its comfortable cut and draperies turn of the century Reform Dress style developed for corset-free wearing. The earrings and ring are from the current ball season collection by Vienna-based 'Katie g. Jewellery' focusing on combinations of classical elements and raw, organic designs.
