Vienna-based jeweler Katie g. was inspired by imperfection as characteristic of long-lasting relationships for hammered wedding rings showing irregularities

Irregularities, nature are driving ideas behind the work of English born Katie Gruber who founded the company 'Katie g. Jewellery' together with her husband Georg Matejovsky (born in Vienna) in 2013. Katie Gruber studied goldsmith in Vienna and experimental jewellery & design in Florence. Georg Matejovsky finished his studies at the department of economics at Royal Holloway, University of London.

The jewelry pieces by Katie Gruber appear like made for withstanding time with all its good and bad stories - such as the wedding rings (picture below) or the special ring cases with mechanical protection appeal; the patented Ring Casing is a cover for an old ring. The case can be switched on or off for changing the style of the jewelry. Katie developed the idea for her own engagement ring, an old family treasure.
