Chinese athletic wear and sport-derived fashion brand Li-Ning staged AW20 Gesamtkunstwerk-like at Centre Pompidou with the brand's new collaborator Jackie Chan

On occasion of the 30th anniversary of the company founded in 1990 by Olympic gold, silver, bronze medal winning gymnast Li-Ning, the in Beijing headquartered eponymous 'Li-Ning' athletic wear and sport-derived fashion brand presented men's and women's wear developed from past and future looks of classical tailoring blended with sportswear functionality on 18 January 2020 during Paris Men's Fashion Week at the iconic Centre Pompidou.

Last mentioned played as new partner of Li-Ning - the three-year's patronage started this month, an essential role for the approach of the staging showing the impact of art on everyday culture. The catwalk was embedded into light effects of a 3-D urban landscape which may evokes impressions of an online computer game - impressions that were supported by pixelated LED screens and monitors displaying '80s video games and vintage video footage. The soundtrack was mixed from new interpretations of signature highlights from the decades including Lil Nas X' 'Old Town Road' and 'O Superman' by Laurie Anderson (video at LiNing.com).

The star of the presentation was martial artist and actor Jackie Chan whose collaborative Li-Ning collection of 10 looks of black/white outfits inspired by Kung-Fu was in parts already available exclusively in China one day after the show.
