Lena Hoschek AW21/22 collection 'Biedermeier' inspired by the pre-revolutionary period of the 19th century and artist Arnulf Rainer's 'Pseudologica' series of reworked erotic Biedermeier scenes

Austrian designer Lena Hoschek presented the first looks of the new Autumn/Winter 2021/22 collection with the name 'Biedermeier' referencing the period when Central Europe had to be restored again in the early 19th century beginning with the Congress in Vienna (1815) until the revolution in 1848. The German word Biedermeier references 'good citizens' who aren't interested in politics and make no trouble. During this time, social living happened more and more at home. Ideas and concepts for a revolution were because of massive censorship policy developed mainly secretly and realized finally 1848. The second source of inspiration was the 'Pseudologica' series (1989) by Austrian artist Arnulf Rainer. At the series, Arnulf Rainer reworked erotic drawings by Biedermeier painter, lithographer Peter Fendi. The erotic sceneries appear like censored by Rainer.
