Preview upcoming new school year and trends for snowsports apparel seen at Colmar Ski FW21/22

In Vienna, families with kids in school age have some days left to get together all the necessary tools and materials like pencils, digital and analogue notebooks, books, etc. for the start of the new school year 2021/22 on 6 September. The next official school holidays 2021/22 are scheduled for 27 until 31 October, followed by Christmas holidays from 24 December 2021 until 6 January 2022. A long time to live with the uncertainty how the increasing Covid-19 infections - especially among the unvaccinated - will impact the education progress of children over the colder months.
Even when mathematics or languages can be teached easily via distance learning, it's not possible to replace with homeschooling measures sports activities and the personal experience of nature and culture collected together in a group with classmates and teachers, who train athletic skills like skiing and guide through the landscape by telling stories about a region's history, geography or flora and fauna. But it's rather unlikely that another possible lockdown will affect minors. Additionally, due to the negative statistics concerning sports activities of youth in the time since the beginning of the pandemic, the athletic programmes of the different school types and levels will get more attention in the new school year.

One of the sportive highlights for older pupils in Austria are the ski courses which are held normally over one week during the winter semester in the alps. Fashion.at looked through the latest press releases concerning ski outfits and found the new styles by Colmar which may remind with items in streetwear-jeans-like style the late 80s/90s when techniques like carving and snowboarding have changed the way people moved on slopes. The latest trend for sportswear is certainly to wear pieces as long as possible (motto 'reduce waste'; second hand is considered the new premium quality) or buying new clothing with sustainability in mind.

Colmar used 100% recycled polyester with padding made up of either 100% or 93% recycled materials for the new collection with the name 'The Skiing of the Future'.
