The Austrian coat of arms inspired the design of the Bike Shirt 2021 for the European Bike Week at lake Faak in Carinthia

Fashion is rarely the main theme in Austria such as the Haute Couture in France or the Ready-to-Wear in Italy. The country's couture or ready-to-wear products aren't seen in the most cases as fashion 'per se' in the meaning of being creations without determination. Austrian fashion developments rather get awareness as practical, dedicated solutions on occasion of environmental initiatives, sports activities or as customized products for special events. Recently, the Austrian Fashion Board was founded with the aim to show the diversity and creativity of fashion designed and produced in Austria. For special events like the Vienna State Opera Ball, tailor-made couture by Austrian designers is preferred by customers, while in the range of everyday wear like t-shirts, the competition between locally acting companies and specialized mass production facilities grows. But not always!

Exceptions exist such as the new 'Biker Shirt 2021' of the upcoming European Bike Week 2021 at the lake 'Faaker See' is proving. Events are a key to the country's most authentic clothing pieces. The black short sleeve t-shirt is made of organic cotton, is certified for its sustainable material and shows on the front an impressive print with the interpretation of the Austrian coat of arms with the federal eagle (Bundesadler). A closer look shows the head of a white-tailed eagle and the incorporated coat of arms - an eagle claw - of the Finkensteiner Municipality at the lake Faak (Faaker See). The variations of the eagle motif over the years since 2011 are published at biker-shirt.at/historie/.
