Interior design by Paris-based Gesa Hansen for Villeroy & Boch in Pantone's Color of the Year 2023 'Viva Magenta'

Since the turn of 2000, the color management solutions provider Pantone presents the Color of the Year with a resume of what happened in the recent past and a prognosis of the future as a forecast of the coming months. Recently, the 'Pantone Color Institute' released information about the ideas behind the Color of 2023 'Viva Magenta' such as that it symbolizes fearlessness and optimism and the balance of the digital world and nature, including inspirations for how to use Viva Magenta in fashion or for interiors. Around one week after the energetic color 2023 was unveiled, trend looks for lifestyle items in or with the deep crimson-red color, if it's fashion or home interior, have been published. It appears slightly like a style competition of the best looks.

German ceramics company Villeroy & Boch (since 1748) for example teamed up with one of the company's designers Gesa Hansen for the creation of interior designs with products in the tones of 'Viva Magenta'. The Paris-based German-Danish designer and interior consultant studied at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany and the NZU Nagoya University of Arts in Japan. For Villeroy & Boch, Gesa Hansen created the color concept of the 'Artis' washbasin series. (Details about the Vileroy & Boch designer and the color concept are published at villeroy-boch.co.uk/.) For the interior design of the bathroom in 'Viva Magenta'-tones, Gesa Hansen combined a red Artis washbasin with the company's tiles in matching color and monochrome accessories.
