Preview of the new H&M Home collection created in collaboration with Berlin-based jewelry label uncommon matters
Recently, on 24 November, the first H&M Home store in Austria was opened near Vienna. One of the store reviews published online described the range as 'more of the same', in the usual tone of how Viennese judge something or someone. Wherever you go in Vienna, even if it's the physician or an authority, you will encounter this - some might say contemptuous - side of the Viennese. No wonder that Vienna recently earned the title 'unfriendliest city' in the 'Expat City Ranking 2022' (article about the ranking on thelocal.at).
Fashion.at looked closer at the range of H&M Home. The latest news release concerns a collection developed from fashion jewelry for home objects. For the upcoming H&M Home collection, the Swedish fashion brand has teamed up with Berlin-based jewelry label 'uncommon matters' by Amélie Riech, a trained architect with a fashion design diploma, whose products - bangles, rings, earrings, necklaces, brooches - are available in prestigious shops like Farfetch, Lyst, Selfridges or the MoMA Store.
For the 'uncommon matters x H&M HOME' collection, the jewelry label created objects for home which will be, with the Swedish producer and retailer as partner, available for more affordable prices than the 'uncommon matters' jewelry. The vases, candle holders, candles, trays or jewelry boxes resemble the key pieces of the 'uncommon matters'-jewelry, only in giant size and made for practical home accessories-usage. The collection is already presented as preview at hm.com/home (fast checked today) and will be available from 1 December at hm.com and selected stores such as the new 560m2 H&M Home store near Vienna.
