Release of the first dates and names of designers of the MQ Vienna Fashion Week: Headicraft - THAIdentity Night on 15 September

The presentation of fashion, accessories and textile design from Thailand is every year one of the highlights of the annual MQ Vienna Fashion Week. It's announced that this year's designers Marionsiam, Kram Phon, Paul Direk, Riva, and Sirintra will be present at the 13th edition of the annual show which happens in 2022 under the motto 'Headicraft – THAIdentity' referencing with the word creation from 'head' and 'handicraft' the way how the designers manifest Thailand's identity through fashion. Fashion Week co-founder and -organizer Zigi Mueller-Matyas curated the programme personally in Bangkok and selected together with the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand designers in regard to the European market and the fashion week in Vienna.

The tickets for the show on 15 July at 21:00 are already available (fast checked today at mqvfw.com/tickets/). Fashion pieces from the collections can be shopped at the MQVFW pop-up store from 14 until 17 September.

The label was founded by Tayida Ounburanawan (image right) in 2019. In 2020, the designer received the 'Creative Textiles Award' by the Thailand Textile Institute. At the press release on occasion of the upcoming MQ Vienna Fashion Week show 'Headicraft - THAIdentity Night' on 15 September 2022, the inspirations behind the designer's work combining traditional techniques, historical elements such as color tones or the structure of the garland from the reign of King Rama V (1886) in Thailand, and modern fashion design is introduced with the novel 'Thawiphop' (Two Worlds) by author Thommayanti (pen name of former member of the senate of Thailand Khun Ying Wimon Chiamcharoen) from 1986. In the love story, a woman goes on a fantastic time travel and becomes the protector of the country.
