Vienna Insight: Jewelry and watch maker Saboteur opens 'Fine Piercing' studio at the brand's worldwide first concept store on 12 May
The worldwide first Saboteur concept store located at the Spiegelgasse 8 in the first district of Vienna is a mix of meeting place, store, showroom, art gallery and studio for getting pierced. For the two floors store, the founders of Saboteur, entrepreneur Thomas Sabo of the eponymous worldwide active jewelry and watch brand with headquarters in Germany, his son Santiago Sabo, and artist Rita Sabo, wife of Thomas Sabo, teamed up for the creation of a contemporary art-design-lifestyle concept for a sort of 'multiverse' where exhibition space and gastronomy are placed seamlessly parallel to the retail trade.
Already at the entrance of the store, art by Rita Sabo hand-knotted as carpet welcomes the visitor. Artist Rita Sabo is also the creative mind behind the 'Sacra' collection with the range's heart piece, the pendant 'Sacred Planet' developed from the exploration of sacred geometry, the stream of life and harmony - topics that appear also in the artworks by Rita Sabo. The Sacra collection is exhibited together with the 'Elemental' and 'Fine Piercing' collections on the first floor of the store. The interior is colored in the Saboteur's signature Sabony-green and in orange-red.
The second floor combines gallery, bar and lounge space, as well as from 12th May the 'Fine Piercing' studio with cabins where customers can have their ears and noses pierced by professional piercers. The jewelry for piercings is made of 18-carat gold (hypoallergenic, nickel-free), diamonds, pearls, and stones like ruby or emerald.
