Berlin Fashion Week releases official calendar with events such as 'Berlin Contemporary' presentation of German and Ukrainian design labels

This week, the Berlin Fashion Week, which takes place from 10th to 13th July, released its official calendar with dates and locations of the shows, parties, trade fairs and special events like 'Berlin Contemporary'. The events will happen in typical Berlin buildings such as the landmark architecture of the Alte Nationalgalerie or the Kronprinzenpalais. The extensive program is inspired by the atmosphere of the city. In the press release, Berlin's subcultural movements and trends, the music and club scene are mentioned as characteristics that influence the city, its people and its economy. Fashion plays an important role in Berlin's culture and the job market. The Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Business is behind the fashion week's central project, the 'Berlin Contemporary', which was carried out by the Fashion Council Germany. Franziska Giffey, the Senator for Economics, Energy and Business, explains that the Berlin Fashion Week serves as a platform to showcase the emerging Berlin fashion and textile industry. With nearly 4,800 companies and 25,500 employees, it has become a growing economic factor. A jury of experts selected 18 concepts by Berlin and national designers from 77 applications for the Berlin Contemporary presentations, which will happen at various locations throughout the city. Among the designers are Olivia Ballard, ODEEH, Esther Perbandt, RIANNA + NINA, Fassbender, or Haderlump Atelier Berlin - just to name a few - and the Ukrainian labels Bobkova, Litkovska, DZHUS, and PODYH. The full list of designers is published at fashionweek.berlin.
