Vienna Insight: Designer Laura Sänger presents her 'Hotel La Katz Extravaganza' collection, inspired by the atmosphere of 'The Leo Grand Hotel'
Laura Sänger, a PR and marketing professional with work experience in the food and interior design industries who founded her own luxury fashion label 'La Katz' three years ago, will launch her latest collection 'Hotel La Katz Extravaganza' with a pop-up boutique at one of Vienna's chicest hotels, 'The Leo Grand Hotel' from 10 to 13 June. Earlier this year, in March, the designer presented the collaboration with hat manufacturer Mühlbauer with a pop-up in the hat maker's store on Seilergasse. It was the second collaboration between La Katz and Mühlbauer. The first took place in 2021 and featured a classic hat covered in the label's signature leopard print (pictured above).
Not far from the Mühlbauer store is La Katz's upcoming pop-up store at The Leo Grand Hotel on Bauernmarkt near St. Stephen's Cathedral. The Viennese label and the hotel have already collaborated in the past to outfit the hostess of the restaurant 'Dots'. Laura Sänger specializes in the use of silk for ready-to-wear with a luxurious couture appeal. It's announced that the new 'Hotel La Katz Extravaganza' collection is inspired by the glamorous and elegant world of old grand hotels, with designs featuring a custom-made leopard-print silk fabric from Como, Italy, and elegant velvet coats in Yves Klein blue.
In the press release Laura Sänger says of her inspiration that a grand hotel evokes feelings of longing, nostalgia, beauty, and grace, captivating visitors upon entry. It transports them to a timeless world that never goes out of style. The designer expresses her desire to take the wearer of 'La Katz' on this journey with her new collection.
