Designer Martina Mueller-Callisti shows her photographic talent with the campaign for the festive Callisti 'Evening Couture', shot by herself
Viennese fashion label Callisti, founded in 2007 by Martina Mueller-Callisti, is known for presenting urban daywear spiced with glam and party-ready elegant evening wear on the catwalks of Berlin and Vienna, where her shows are among the highlights. During Berlin Fashion Week 2018, Callisti was named 'New Designer of the Year' by Elle Magazine; for this year's Vienna Fashion Week campaign, her fashion was prominently staged. Callisti's creations are worn at illustrious events such as the Vienna Opera Ball 2016 by Brooke Shields.
This week Martina Mueller-Callisti unveiled her 'Evening Couture' collection 2023/24, featuring glamorous and colorful designs suitable for festive occasions such as cocktails, red carpet events and elegant balls. The collection includes slim silhouettes, flared dresses and full gowns, showcasing a variety of styles for the upcoming ball season. Materials used include silk, satin, fringe, tulle, sequins and beaded and crystal embellished fabrics presented in gold, yellow, purple, green, cream, red/pink and black. In the press release, the designer emphasized the collaboration with her team and the chosen location in Vienna, reflecting the stately and magnificent atmosphere of the festive season, without naming the location. Most likely it wasn't mentioned because it's such a signature location that there's no doubt it was photographed at the Hotel Imperial, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. Talking about the shooting, Martina Mueller-Callisti said that this year was particularly challenging. But she made a virtue of necessity. In a video on https://www.instagram.com/callisticouture, making-of scenes are published with the note that the photographer was sick and there was no other way to shoot by herself.
