Fashion show by students under the direction of Grace Wales Bonner, head of the Fashion Department at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, scheduled for 2 June

The Fashion Department of the University of Applied Arts Vienna will host its annual fashion show, 'Show Modeklasse 2023', on 2 June in the atrium of the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Vordere Zollamtsstraße 7. The event will feature around 100 looks created by students, including six graduates currently studying under the direction of Grace Wales Bonner. The Fashion Department at the University of Applied Arts Vienna offers a four-year program for students to develop their artistic style and creativity. Past professors include Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, Jil Sander, Hussein Chalayan, Helmut Lang and Raf Simons. The hearings for the new director of the fashion department took place on April 25 and 26. The information about the hearing is published on dieangewandte.at/termine/ without further details about the candidates.

It's announced that the setting for this year's fashion show celebrates the runway as an iconic site for fashion performance. The show and runway action, choreographed by Movement Director MJ Harper, will be shown on screens in the room, providing an in-depth look at the fashion pieces on display. Live backstage footage documents the creation of the fashion show. Tickets for the Modeklasse 2023 show are already available online, as seen today in the press release at dieangewandte.at/presse/.
