The real world and digital realities, the definition of art and beauty are topics of collections presented at the 'Take Off' show by Thai designers at the MQ Vienna Fashion Week

In September 2023, the Austrian-Thai collaboration will continue for the 14th time at the MQ Vienna Fashion Week, showcasing prominent Thai designers selected by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP). The event celebrates the creative synergy between Austria and Thailand, highlighting various artistic fields including fashion. The chosen designers, curated by Zigi Mueller-Matyas, will present a 'Best Of' collection titled 'Take Off', emphasizing the mutual influence of Austrian and Thai fashion and art.

By looking through the preview photos of the collections that will be presented at the 'Take Off' show at the upcoming MQ Vienna Fashion Week on 14 September, a varied picture emerges. The creations of Wonder Anatomie and Simonssister, for example, feature eye-catching prints related to contemporary media culture and art history.

Images, left and middle: Wonder Anatomie by designer Chalermkiat 'Pop' Khatikasemlert presents in the preview images showing apparel with prints that cite data storage. The press release states that Pop designs 'Portable, real LIFE'. The pictures might prompt the viewer to see that the real world is the source of digital realities. Pop's detailed biography, including his studies at the Institut Francais de la Mode (IFM) in Paris and his training at La Maison Martin Margiela, can be found at mqvfw.com/designer/wonder-anatomie/. What is beauty', that manga characters have a thumb but no other fingers, and that the collection's story is about famous artworks by famous artists. In one of the images provided, Austrian artist Egon Schiele's 1917 painting "Reclining Woman with Green Stockings" is prominently displayed on the front of the bag. Photo: © Simonssister.

It is announced that the collections will be available for purchase in a pop-up store during MQ Vienna Fashion Week.
