Vienna Insight: Fashion show by Iranian-born designer Fanny Abrari at the '48er-Tandler' second-hand market, with lecture and discussion on sustainable fashion

On 23 March, the second-hand market '48er-Tandler' at Siebenbrunnenfeldgasse 3 in Vienna's 5th district will host a lecture, discussion and fashion show by Iranian-born, Vienna-based Fanny Abrari. The photographer and designer combines her two artistic skills for the label 'fabrari', founded in 2012, for the production of women's and men's clothing using fabrics printed with her photographs. The items are sold in several stores in Austria and France as well as in her online shop at fabrari.com. On the occasion of the 48er-Tandler event, it's been announced that Fanny Abrari will present a limited collection with the theme 'Woman-Life-Freedom' to draw attention to the situation of women in Iran.

The event will begin at 18:00 with the designer's lecture 'Ethics meets Aesthetics' about the background of the textile industry, sustainable fashion and alternatives to fast fashion, followed by a discussion, live music, and a fashion show. The detailed schedule is published with the direct link to the (free) registration at 48ertandler.wien.gv.at/ethik-trifft-aesthetik-alternativen-zu-fast-fashion/#more-6805.
