The Vienna headquarters of the global animal welfare organization Four Paws (Vier Pfoten) is publishing a fashion report with the latest research results and tips for consumers and producers

The global animal welfare organization Four Paws (Vier Pfoten), founded 1988 in Vienna, Austria, has released a new WearItKind fashion report with practical tips for consumers and a list of alternative materials for manufacturers. WearItKind is the name of Vier Pfoten's fashion-related campaign and report series, which uses the latest research and surveys to raise awareness of the situation of animals. In the latest report, published today in Austria by the Vienna-based organization Vier Pfoten, the authors have added practical information for consumers and producers. Findings such as the fact that factory farming is a major cause of the climate crisis and deforestation, or that reducing the number of animals kept has a positive impact on animal welfare, biodiversity and the climate, are complemented by practical information for consumers on what they can do. Tips for consumers include wearing vintage clothing, choosing animal-free bio-based or recycled materials, and opting for products made from waste, such as discarded fishing nets or plant waste.

At the end of the report, Vier Pfoten offers an overview of alternative materials, including faux fur made from plants or recycled PET; faux wool made from blends or fermented plant ingredients; faux down made from various fibers or recycled fabrics; and faux leather made from recycled PET, recycled rubber, wood or plants.
