adidas Originals presented British designer Wales Bonner's reinterpretation of vintage looks and the upcoming collection from Kiev-based fashion label Kseniaschnaider


Earlier this month, adidas launched the 'adidas Originals x Wales Bonner' Spring/Summer 2023 menswear collection with a focus on Jamaican culture. The designer recently visited Vienna for the runway show of the collections created by her students and graduates at the University of Applied Arts; Fashion.at attended the presentation (article). For the adidas collaboration, Wales Bonner interpreted vintage-inspired silhouettes with updated materials and colors. The British designer, known for fusing European heritage with an Afro-Atlantic spirit, focused on exploring the adidas logo, the trefoil, and its enduring presence in the Caribbean, particularly Jamaican culture.

This week, adidas Originals unveiled the next collection developed with a design label. This time, the brand codes of adidas were interpreted by the Ukrainian, Kyiv-based label Kseniaschnaider. The fashion label was founded in 2011 by the married couple Ksenia Schnaider and Anton Schnaider with a focus on upcycled apparel. The collection includes unconventional denim pieces with frayed edges, as well as reworked adiColor tracksuits, corsets, and dresses with a patchwork finish, footwear such as reinterpreted Superstar sneakers, bags and hats.
