Fashion.at save the date tip June 15 & 16: Hand-picked design, art and culinary delights at the first 'Cream Vienna', organized by Katrin Hofmann of Fesch'markt

This week, Fashion.at came across an information about a backpack that had its heyday in the 70s and is now experiencing a revival. On the website of the Austrian backpack brand Kamarg, one of the locations where the products will be displayed is Cream Vienna. Cream is the new project of Katrin Hofmann, who is known in the country's design, art and culinary scene for Fesch'markt, which she initiated together with Barbara Daxböck in 2010 and organized as a nationwide market lasting several days in selected capital cities. At the beginning of this year, Katrin Hofmann and Barbara Daxböck announced that they would be discontinuing the Fesch'markt activities. Hofmann's new project 'Cream' is, as she told Fashion.at on the phone, smaller with more special products, such as brands with a stronger focus on exclusivity and individuality, be it in the field of creative cooks, who will serve dishes at the upcoming Cream Vienna on June 15 and 16 at the event location Reaktor, or shoes by shoemaker Christine Dünser, who produces bags and custom-made shoes in her manufactory in a former knitting factory in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg. In Vienna it will be possible to take a closer view, try on, and purchase the products of the shoe and leather specialist, who studied at Polimoda in Florence and was trained as an intern in the design office of Salvatore Ferragamo.

Katrin Hofmann's new concept for a presentation of more special design and culinary products foresees a new role for art as part of the space. For the first Cream, Austrian artist Fritz Hortig, who is also known for his works that combine art and fashion, will curate the integrated exhibition. Hofmann offered a glimpse into the Cream location: Large-format artwork will be hung in the exhibition space. Some of the special products that will be on display include Agnes Nordenholz's custom-made women's wear, such as pantsuits, Anne Riess' reinterpretation of classic tableware with a gold rim in her 'Gold on Top' series, and the sculptural home accessories and tableware by Studio Orá. Tickets for Cream Vienna on June 15 and 16 are already available at https://creamvienna.at/.

After Vienna, Cream will travel to Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, where the upcoming 'Cream Dornbirn' will take place on June 29 and 30.
