Vienna Fashion Week kicked off with illustrious guests from Austria's entertainment, fashion, beauty and media industries
Yesterday, the city's most important annual fashion event, Vienna Fashion Week, kicked off with illustrious guests from the entertainment, fashion, beauty and media industries, such as Ö3 radio host Sylvia Graf-Borgstädt, the doyen of Austrian fashion journalism Brigitte Winkler, ex-Miss Vienna, TV host and sports journalist Kimberly Budinsky, ex-Miss Austria, model and content creator Patricia Kaiser, and ex-Miss Austria and PR manager Tanja Duhovic, to name just a few.
The opening event, held in the tent in front of Vienna's MuseumsQuartier, featured a mix of 42 established and emerging designers with a renewed focus on sustainability. Highlights included collections by Sabine Karner, Pitour, Edith Agay and innovative new talents. Special shows such as 'Fashion Reloaded' and the charity event 'Uplift' added a creative twist, while the electric Porsche Macan impressed VIP guests.
The event was moderated by radio host Elke Rock, dressed in a piece by young designer Nicolas Dudek. The opening speeches were held by representatives of the partner institutions of Vienna Fashion Week, Theresia Niedermüller from the Ministry of Art and Culture, Sylvia Faßl-Vogler from the Cultural Department of the City of Vienna and Bettina Leidl, Director of the MuseumsQuartier Vienna.
Vienna Fashion Week takes place from September 9 to 14, 2024 with shopping areas and various fashion events in the cultural center MuseumsQuartier. Details are published on viennafashionweek.com.
