A Fashion Journey Between Vienna and Bratislava

Two Cities, One River Connection

Vienna and Bratislava lie just 60 kilometers apart, with the Danube River forming a natural bridge between Austria and Slovakia. While the route can be covered in less than an hour by car or train, many travelers prefer the slower rhythm of the Twin City Liner, which links the two capitals in a scenic boat ride. For those who consider the journey itself part of the destination, the river offers the most poetic way of travel.

Nehera: Slovak Luxury with International Reach

The fashion tip for this cross-border journey is Slovak label Nehera, which operates boutiques in both Vienna and Bratislava. Founded in the 1930s by Jan Nehera and relaunched in 2014, the brand has established itself as a contemporary luxury house with an emphasis on functional comfort and sustainable craftsmanship. Its designs have earned ongoing coverage by Vogue, including both the women's and men's Fall/Winter 2025 collections.

Presented during Paris Fashion Week in March 2025, the collection reflects Nehera's strong international presence. The official video of the collection is published on the website of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.

Looks for the Urban Wanderer

The Fall/Winter 2025 womenswear highlights include a striking combination of a deep red jacket with caramel-brown trousers, layered over a fiery satin turtleneck whose draped neckline adds sculptural elegance. Brown hues and burgundy tones dominate the collection, visible in practical city-ready outfits such as a burgundy leather coat paired with an earthy-brown jacket and a matching midi skirt.

The collection's theme, communicated by the label in its press release, celebrates the flâneur and flâneuse – the art of wandering and observing the city at a conscious pace. This concept directly reflects the practicality of the designs, made for walking through urban landscapes while balancing elegance and function.

Several women's pieces appear mirrored in the men's wardrobe, such as a knit blouson with an intricate net-like pattern on the front. In the womenswear lookbook, the unisex item is styled with a midi-length velvet trouser-skirt in beige, demonstrating Nehera's subtle play between feminine and masculine codes.

Unisex Elegance for Traveling Couples

Among the most versatile aspects of the FW25 collection is the blurred line between men's and women's pieces. Many jackets are unisex in style and can be shared between partners, sometimes worn oversized, which adds to their practicality for travel. Even Nehera's knitwear, including seasonal unisex Christmas sweaters, suggests cross-gender appeal – garments that may well become sought-after wardrobe companions on journeys between Vienna and Bratislava.
