A Stage for Design and Innovation

The SO/ Vienna hotel, located between the Danube Canal and Vienna's historic center, is more than just a luxury address. Its architectural concept by Jean Nouvel and immersive video art installation by Pipilotti Rist express a bold commitment to contemporary aesthetics. This vision extends into programming: the hotel regularly hosts design and fashion events that blur the boundaries between disciplines.

In late 2024, SO/ Vienna featured a high-tech fashion experience by Alpha Tauri, complemented by a digital installation curated by Artefact Mixed Reality Studio. Contributions came from Julia Koerner and Marie Boltenstern—renowned for their work in 3D-printed fashion and jewelry. Earlier in 2024, designer and photographer Martina Mueller-Callisti presented her collection Timeless Reflections with an additional photo-driven showcase that combined fashion and artistic expression. Continuing this tradition, the Ferrari Zöchling collection now takes center stage in the hotel's spacious, open lobby—where it will remain on view through May and June.

A Label Rooted in Artistic Collaboration

Ferrari Zöchling was founded in 2013 by Austrian designer Romana Zöchling. The name originates from her early collaboration with Monica Ferrari-Krieger, with whom she operated a sewing studio. Although Ferrari-Krieger left the label shortly after its founding, Zöchling chose to keep the joint name.

A graduate of Hetzendorf Fashion School in cooperation with the University of Art and Design Linz, Romana Zöchling has built her brand around artistic partnerships. The label's most important collections are developed in close cooperation with a contemporary artist—previous collaborators include Marianne Vlaschits, Denise Rudolf Frank, and now Sophia Süssmilch. The designs stand out for their expressive prints, radiant colors, and fluid silhouettes, made to empower while retaining a playful elegance. The label operates a boutique in Vienna's creative Neubau district (Kirchengasse 27) and an online shop with its latest art-fashion pieces, including the FZxSÜSSMILCH shirt dress and bomber jacket 'Klassenkampf', both from the 'Ferrari Zöchling X Sophia Süssmilch' collection.

From Fashion Week to the Hotel Lobby

The current collection was previously shown during Vienna Fashion Week 2024 and is featured in photographic editorials on the brand's website. Among them is a series starring actress Verena Altenberger, exemplifying the label's connection to both fashion and the performing arts.

The presentation at SO/ Vienna opened with an intimate evening event featuring music by DJane Anna Chiara. According to information provided to Fashion.at, the next fashion-focused event at the hotel is expected to take place after summer.
