27 October 2025 ![]() A Celebration of Light and CollaborationIn celebration of its 130th anniversary, Swarovski opens a new chapter of creative exchange, unveiling seven collaborations under the banner '130 Years of Joy.' Rooted in Austria's Tyrol region, where the company was founded in 1895, Swarovski continues to blend tradition with forward-looking design through its Creators Lab platform. This year's limited-edition collaborations — with Oakley, Off-White™, Gufram, Loop Earplugs, PUMA, A Bathing Ape, and BE@RBRICK — reinterpret contemporary lifestyle icons through the prism of crystal artistry. Available in Austria at the Swarovski Kristallwelten Stores in Wattens, Innsbruck, and Vienna, the new Creators Lab collection exemplifies how craftsmanship, imagination, and cultural innovation merge in the house's ongoing dialogue with the world. Loop Earplugs – When Jewelry Meets WellbeingAmong the seven collaborations, the Swarovski x Loop Earplugs design stands out for its poetic intersection of jewelry and health. The Belgian company Loop Earplugs, founded in 2016 by engineers and lifelong friends Maarten Bodewes and Dimitri O, was born from personal experience with tinnitus and a desire to make hearing protection both functional and beautiful. Their concept — earplugs people actually want to wear — aligns perfectly with Swarovski's ethos of combining form, precision, and emotion. The collaboration turns a utilitarian object into a wearable piece of art. Each pair of Loop Earplugs is adorned with six precisely cut Swarovski crystals, hand-set in a sleek metallic frame. Beyond their luminous appearance, these earplugs address a growing public health issue: the global rise of hearing damage among young people. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over one billion individuals aged 12 to 34 are at risk of hearing loss due to unsafe listening practices — primarily the use of headphones or in-ear devices to listen to loud music, as well as prolonged exposure to sound in entertainment venues. Environmental and leisure noise have become defining stressors of modern urban life. In this context, the Swarovski x Loop collaboration resonates as both a design statement and a preventive gesture against the acoustic overload of our time. Crystal Futures: Fashion, Art, and Function ConvergeFrom Oakley's crystal-embellished sunglasses and PUMA's dazzling Speedcat sneakers to Off-White™'s luminous hoodie, Gufram's sparkling mini cactus, A Bathing Ape's reinterpretation of its signature jacket, and BE@RBRICK's sculptural crystal bear — each collaboration embodies the multifaceted dialogue between art, technology, and fashion.Yet, it is the integration of health and design in the Loop Earplugs project that captures the spirit of this anniversary most compellingly. At once protective, aesthetic, and symbolic, the collaboration embodies a modern understanding of luxury — one that acknowledges both the sensory intensity and fragility of contemporary life. Swarovski's '130 Years of Joy' is not only a celebration of heritage but also an invitation to imagine how beauty can enhance wellbeing in an increasingly noisy world.
