When Travel Meets Purism: A Viennese Collaboration of Jewelry and Organic Skincare

New Scanners, Old Rules

The debate on new scanners and the future of the 100-milliliter rule is currently a recurring topic in Austrian media. For years, passengers in Europe have been restricted to carrying liquids in containers of no more than 100 ml, all placed within a transparent one-liter bag. This regulation still applies at most airports, including Vienna, although advanced CT scanners are gradually being introduced across Europe. These devices can analyze liquids and gels more precisely, allowing for more flexible rules where available. At Vienna International Airport, their introduction is expected by summer 2026. Until then, travelers must continue to follow the established system of one liter of liquids in travel-size containers. Even after the scanners are in place, the adjustment will apply only at airports equipped with the technology—meaning globetrotters will still rely on travel-sized products to meet international standards.

A Package That Inspires Journeys

Against this background, the editorial office of Fashion.at received a surprise package this week. It contained travel-size skincare by the Viennese organic cosmetics company Less is More, accompanied by a pendant from the Weltenbummler (Globetrotter) Collection of jewelry designer Elisabeth Habig. Together, the two creations evoke the idea of a world trip: the care products fit into hand luggage regulations, while the jewelry recalls faraway places. The collaboration between Habig and Less is More emerges naturally—both translate elements of nature into refined design, whether through textures of raw gemstones or alpine plant-based essences.

Nature Interpreted in Jewelry and Skincare

Elisabeth Habig's Weltenbummler Collection interprets geography and travel through jewelry. Using the ancient technique of granulation, she transforms maps and places into rings, pendants, and bangles. Her work stands out with lightness, artistic purism, and sculptural qualities that break from the conventions of mainstream collections. Nature is both inspiration and material, with surfaces and textures captured in precious metals and rare stones.

Purism is also central to Less is More—a brand co-founded in Vienna by chemist and aromatherapist Doris Brandhuber and hairstylist Hannes Trummer. The certified organic label offers professional haircare, skincare, and bodycare based on plant extracts, essential oils, and aromatherapeutic concepts. Its holistic philosophy emphasizes purity, sustainability, and transparency. In the brand's online shop, the "Travelsizes" section directly addresses the needs of globetrotters, bridging the gap between daily routines and mobility.

Shared Values and Viennese Quality

The collaboration unites two disciplines—goldsmithing and biochemistry—under a shared aesthetic of authenticity and elegance. Both brands are based in Vienna and share a bond with nature that shapes their creative process. Beyond their partnership, they are also part of Wien Products, a seal of quality that distinguishes outstanding Viennese craftsmanship and cultural institutions. Members include not only designers of jewelry, style, and interiors but also culinary producers and world-renowned institutions such as the Vienna Boys' Choir and the Spanish Riding School. Wien Products also presents its members on an international stage, most recently in September in Paris at Maison & Objet and in March during Paris Fashion Week. Within this network, Elisabeth Habig and Less is More position themselves as ambassadors of contemporary Viennese refinement—rooted in tradition, yet globally resonant.
