Balancing Traditions and Innovation

Vossen presents its new wellness-focused collection, while celebrating 100 years of Austrian textile craftsmanship.

Based in Jennersdorf, Burgenland, Vossen is one of Europe's leading terry cloth manufacturers, known for producing premium-quality towels, bathrobes, and spa apparel. Established in 1925, the company has consistently evolved while staying rooted in its Austrian identity. With a workforce of around 250 and a strong commitment to sustainable production, Vossen is not just a legacy brand – it is an active player in textile innovation and a significant employer in the region.

This year, the company is marking a historic milestone: its 100th anniversary. A gala event in the production halls of Jennersdorf brought together guests from business, sports, fashion, and culture. On Instagram @vossen_towels, Vossen shares not only event highlights but also personal memories from its employees. Long-time staff member Claudia, who joined in 1993, recalled how she typed letters using Word on a PC at a time when electric typewriters were still common. Another post features Anna, European champion in the 2023 EuroSkills competition in the discipline of Fashion Technology, who has been part of the product development team at Vossen since 2022.

Wellness Meets Sustainability: Balance and the Aqua.Save System

The new 'Balance' collection introduces colour harmony, function, and a water-saving production method.

Coinciding with its centennial, Vossen has launched a new collection named Balance, aimed at providing small moments of calm in the midst of daily routine. Available from October, the collection includes towels, robes, spa dresses, ponchos, and sauna kilts — all produced with a focus on environmental responsibility. With the launch of the new collection, the brand also introduced its proprietary water-saving innovation: Aqua.Save. The system replaces fresh tap water with treated river water sourced from Vossen’s in-house purification facility. By doing so, around 15 litres of fresh drinking water are saved for every towel produced — a tangible step that reinforces the company’s long-standing commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

Design for Everyday Rituals

Unisex models Tilda and Timo offer comfort, function, and a gender-neutral approach to wellness wear.

Among the highlights of the Balance line are the unisex ponchos Tilda and Timo. Tilda, made of triple-layered cotton muslin, features a lightweight structure and a kangaroo pocket, ideal for warm days and casual use at home or in wellness settings. It is available in sand, cosmos, elderberry, and graphite. Timo offers a more cocooning alternative. The soft terry cotton poncho is designed for at-home relaxation, spa visits, or beach use. With its minimalist design and practical details like a front pocket, Timo bridges aesthetics and ease of use.

The collection also includes the elegant Theo hamam towel, the softly lined Carmen robe, the textured Samu hooded bathrobe, and the coordinated spa dress and sauna kilt (Sarina and Silvo), all produced using high-quality cotton.

A Collection That Holds Water – Responsibly

By combining heritage with functionality and aesthetics, Vossen's Balance collection underscores how textile traditions can translate into modern-day rituals of comfort and calm — and with Aqua.Save shaping both its production and purpose, it's a collection designed to absorb water while showing that none has to be wasted in the making.
