Fewer Austrian Activities in Paris Fashion Week

Compared with last season, Austrian fashion activity in Paris is expected to be more limited. According to a phone call today between Fashion.at and the Austrian Fashion Association (AFA), the organisation is currently aware of possible Paris activities by two Austrian labels, with no confirmed details so far. This may still change. If additional Austrian designers confirm international presentations in Paris, the information will be published via the AFA newsletter. One thing is certain: AFA is not operating an official showroom this season.

While the major international runways in Berlin, New York, London and Paris remain important meeting points, they are not the only relevant platforms for Austrian brands this season.

Pitti Uomo Florence: A Key Stage for Austrian Menswear

A major focus this January is Pitti Uomo in Florence, which opened today. Pitti Uomo is one of the world's most important international menswear trade fairs, combining classic tailoring, contemporary fashion, accessories and streetwear. It is widely regarded as a business-driven counterpart to the runway-heavy fashion weeks.

This season, several Austrian labels are present. The full country overview can be found on the official Pitti Uomo website.

Maison & Objet Paris: Austrian Design Beyond Fashion

From 15 to 19 January 2026, Austrian companies are also visible at Maison & Objet in Paris. Maison & Objet is a leading international trade fair for interior design, lifestyle, decoration and design-driven craftsmanship.

The Austrian country overview allows visitors to discover a wide range of brands. Among them:

Vossen – premium towels and home textiles, known for innovation in sustainable terry fabrics
Augarten Porzellan Wien – hand-crafted Viennese porcelain with a long historical tradition
Lobmeyr – fine glassware and chandeliers, presented at its Paris city location
Sheyn – a contemporary Austrian brand focusing on high-quality, design-led lifestyle products

These appearances underline that Austrian creativity is not limited to fashion runways, but extends into design, craftsmanship and interior culture.

Looking Ahead to Paris Shows

As Maison & Objet concludes, Paris Fashion Week / Menswear begins almost seamlessly. In recent years, Paris runway shows have increasingly evolved into full-scale show acts, where fashion merges with art, music and film. Luxury brands now share this stage with Hollywood actors, musicians and visual artists, creating immersive experiences that resemble Gesamtkunstwerk performances.

Importantly, many of these shows are publicly accessible via live streams. Louis Vuitton, for example, has already published the YouTube notification for its runway show on 20 January. Paris continues to set the tone — not only for fashion, but for how fashion is presented to a global audience.
