Blickfang yesterday published its dates for 2026 with a "Save the Date" announcement. The design fair has been taking place in Vienna for more than two decades and is presented annually in several European cities. It focuses on independently produced furniture, home accessories, fashion, and jewellery. Since its start in Vienna more than 20 years ago, the event has developed into a recurring platform for contemporary design with direct contact between designers and the public.

2026 Dates and Locations in Chronological Order

According to the information released by Blickfang, the 2026 season includes six cities. The dates are as follows:
• Stuttgart: 13–15 March 2026, Liederhalle
• Basel: 20–22 March 2026, Messe Basel, Event Hall
• Hamburg: 8–10 May 2026, Deichtorhallen
• Munich: 23–25 October 2026, Praterinsel
• Vienna: 6–8 November 2026, MAK – Museum of Applied Arts
• Zurich: 20–22 November 2026, Kongresshaus Zurich

In addition, the Christmas-focused event "Schöne Bescherung" will take place in Stuttgart on 5–6 December 2026.

Exhibitors and Visitor Numbers in Comparison

Blickfang publishes detailed information on exhibitor numbers, exhibition space, and visitor frequency for each city. Based on the data for 2026, Stuttgart is the largest location, with around 200 exhibitors on 8,500 square metres and up to 22,000 visitors. Zurich follows with around 180 exhibitors, 5,500 square metres, and up to 17,400 visitors.

Vienna is positioned among the larger locations, with around 160 exhibitors on 3,500 square metres and up to 13,000 visitors. This puts Vienna at a similar level to Basel, which also reaches up to 13,000 visitors but with fewer exhibitors and a smaller exhibition area. Hamburg and Munich are more compact, both in terms of exhibitor numbers and visitor frequency.

Blickfang also lists the current booking status for exhibitors on its website. According to the information published there today, Stuttgart and Basel are already around 70 percent booked, while Hamburg is about 60 percent booked. (The figures reflect the situation as of today, according to the website.)

Vienna as a Long-Established Location

On its website, Blickfang explains why Vienna remains an important location within the overall tour. The organisers describe Vienna as Austria's central city for independent design, particularly in fashion and interior design. The MAK is highlighted as a centrally located venue that attracts the typical Blickfang audience. Blickfang also points to the long history of the fair in Vienna, where it has been held regularly for more than 20 years and is described by the organisers as an established meeting point for designers, visitors, and multipliers.
