10 September 2026 BLICKFANG Vienna: Cape de Coeur, Econor and a Growing Label List![]()
Quick Read
• BLICKFANG Vienna returns to the MAK from 6–8 November 2026 with around 160 design labels. A label list still taking shapeThe next BLICKFANG Vienna is still several weeks away, but its digital label overview is already giving an idea of the range to expect. From 6 to 8 November 2026, around 160 independent labels from Austria and other European countries are scheduled to present fashion, furniture, jewellery and home design at the MAK. BLICKFANG describes the selection as carefully curated, while the online overview is continuing to develop. One name that caught Fashion.at's attention at an earlier BLICKFANG is Cape de Coeur. The label approaches outerwear less as seasonal fashion and more as a combination of silhouette, tailoring and technical performance. A cape between fashion and functionCape de Coeur was founded by Bettina Mueller Reichl, whose background combines European fashion training with work in costume design, illustration and international sportswear. After moving to Vancouver and working in the performance-wear sector, she developed the label around a particular problem: how to combine weather protection with a more architectural and expressive form of clothing. The image presented by BLICKFANG shows The Artiste, a women's poncho cape with a large bow closure. Its relatively short, generous silhouette leaves room for movement and for clothing worn underneath. A hood, inner cuffs and double-breasted snap closure add practical elements, while the oversized bow gives the otherwise functional garment a distinctly theatrical character. The model is described by the label as inspired by the free-spirited bohemians of the early 20th century. From weatherproof capes to recycled furnitureThe BLICKFANG press material broadens the picture considerably with Econor Design. The Budapest-based furniture studio is led by a father-daughter team and works with recycled materials, particularly rigid polyurethane foam recovered from industrial production. Its portfolio includes community furniture, outdoor seating and upholstered pieces. One example is SnugSpot, a lounge chair and footstool whose core is made from recycled PUR foam. The rounded forms are inspired by water-polished stones, while the construction combines a firm recycled foam structure with softer layers for comfort. Econor says its recycling process turns discarded construction foam into new solid material for furniture. When the material becomes part of the design storyEconor receives a special mention in the BLICKFANG press release under the heading "Restlos gutes Design" — a play on the idea of good design with nothing left to waste, combining "completely," "no waste" and "good design" in one phrase. The emphasis is not simply on recycled content, but on what happens before and after the design process: industrial PU waste is redirected into new objects, production is local, and the material is intended to remain in use for as long as possible.Interestingly, Econor had not yet appeared in the online BLICKFANG Vienna label overview when Fashion.at checked it. That does not necessarily mean the studio will not participate: the label database is still being updated, while the press release already names Econor among the highlighted exhibitors. The discrepancy is therefore itself a useful reminder that the online selection should be treated as a developing snapshot rather than a final catalogue.
