A partnership presented through fashion, sport and film

At a press brunch at FORMDEPOT in Vienna on 14 October, Colmar presented the campaign film for its new partnership with Ski Austria. The Italian sportswear company is taking over the outfitting of the federation's alpine skiing and para-ski teams for the 2026/27 season, bringing together technical sportswear and a design tradition rooted in winter sports.

The event also attracted a crowd from Austrian film, television and theatre. Among the guests were actors Ursula Strauss, Valerie Huber, Nicole Beutler and Patricia Aulitzky, Burgtheater ensemble member Safira Robens, and actor Stefano Bernardin, who stars in the campaign film. Former ski racers Hans Enn, Rainer Schönfelder and Elisabeth Görgl were also present.

Strauss has recently appeared in the crime series Tiroler Blut, while Huber played a role in Klammer, the 2021 feature film about Austrian downhill skiing legend Franz Klammer. Robens represents the theatre world, where she has been part of the Burgtheater ensemble since 2021/22.

Red, white and a recognisable team identity

Stefano Colombo, CEO of Colmar and a member of the fourth generation of the family behind the Italian company, introduced the campaign and the new partnership. Colmar has a long history in winter sports, having worked with prominent skiers including Gustav Thöni. For Colombo, the Ski Austria agreement represents a continuation of that sporting tradition in a new national-team context.

The new collection combines the federation's red, white and darker tones with technical garments designed for the demands of competitive skiing. The racing suits incorporate the Ski Austria emblem as a graphic pattern, translating the federation's identity into the clothing itself. The wider technical range includes ski suits, hybrid jackets, softshells and other functional layers. The partnership begins in the 2026/27 season and covers four years. Colmar replaces Schöffel as outfitter of the alpine and para-ski teams.

A separate room at FORMDEPOT presented Colmar's current Originals collection. These leisurewear pieces extend the visual language of the technical range into everyday clothing, showing how the same brand identity can serve different settings, from competition to time away from the slopes.

When every Rorschach image becomes snow

The campaign film brought the partnership's central idea to life with humour. Bernardin plays a psychologist who presents athletes with Rorschach-style inkblot images. Rather than offering different interpretations, the skiers repeatedly see the same thing: snow.

The joke is simple but effective. For athletes whose professional lives revolve around winter conditions, snow becomes the answer to almost any question. Austrian ski racer Conny Hütter is the campaign's central face, appearing alongside fellow Ski Austria athletes including Marco Schwarz and Lukas Feurstein.

The campaign's phrase, "IN CASO DI SCHNEE", adapts the Italian expression in caso di neve — "in case of snow" — by replacing the Italian word for snow with the German Schnee. It is a small linguistic gesture that connects Colmar's Italian origins with Austria's skiing culture. The broader partnership claim, "TWO ICONS. ONE PASSION.", frames the collaboration around their shared sporting heritage.

Conny Hütter looks towards a possible final season

The morning's sporting highlight was Hütter herself. Hütter is an Olympic bronze medallist in the super-G at the 2026 Winter Games in Milan-Cortina and also won bronze in the super-G at the 2023 World Championships in Courchevel-Méribel. Her career has made her one of the leading figures in Austrian women's alpine skiing.

After the screening, Hütter spoke about her plans for the coming winter and surprised guests with the announcement that she intends this to be her final season. The possibility of retirement had already been discussed last year, before she decided to continue racing for another winter. If this really is her final season, the timing is better than last year: she now gets to compete in a new team outfit, designed for the demands of modern ski racing.
