Fashion.at tip for hiking, biking in Styria: Dachstein mountain tours 'Almkulinarik'

Today, the Austrian government announced to open borders for additional countries from where people can pass without health checks or quarantine. From 16 June, travelers from 31 countries can enter Austria (map).

Currently, it's not possible to estimate how tourism will develop in the next weeks. One of the probable scenarios is making holidays at home. Fashion.at searched for a tip for hiking & biking in the mountains and found the 'Almkulinarik' trail in the alpine Schladming-Dachstein region. The mountain range 'Dachstein' is located in the three federal states Styria, Upper Austria and Salzburg. It's one of the Austrian mountains with the highest impact on the country's clothing tradition and fashion until nowadays. The Dachstein is mentioned in several Fashion.at articles (search the magazine via Fashionavigator) such as about the design of shoes (article).

From mid-June, 14 huts at the Styrian Dachstein region Schladming will offer special culinary highlights which were developed together with highly decorated chef and TV-cook Richard Rauch. The 'Almkulinarik' project was started last year in summer and presents now in the third season a mix of traditional dishes from meat over fish to vegetarian food and deserts in new interpretations such as a deer ragout with berries and dumplings available over the summer months at the Duisitzkarseehütte in Schladming.

Whether per feet or bike, via 'SummitLynx' app goals can be registered respectively points for trophies collected. The ones who reached 9 of the 14 huts and logged in via app at the huts get a cook book by Richard Rauch for free; details at schladming-dachstein.at. Points for hike or bike trophies can be collected such as at the Brandalm (serves the Almkulinarik creation sour beef salad) in Ramsau which is one of the locations for the 'Hike on the bike' trophy.
