McDonald's Austria celebrates new paper straws with swimwear designed by Austrian label Poleit and produced from replaced plastic straws and recycled plastic waste from the oceans

The limited edition of swimwear in McDonald's typical yellow-red stripes will be available via McDonald's Austria Facebook page. The video below (posted today on Facebook) accompanies the company's next step to increase the percentage of packaging made of recycled materials. Currently, 70% of the packaging for guests is made of paper and cardboard; the company's aim is to step up to 100% packaging made from renewable, recycled or certified sources until 2025.

The McDonald's paper straw campaign with swimsuit and shorts for her and him was shot at the Viennese public bath Gänsehäufel at the Old Danube. The pieces are designed by Austrian label Poleit in cooperation with in Graz, Styria based 'Studio Furore'. The pattern of the swimwear is derived from the yellow-red striped plastic straws; the material is a mix of recycled plastic straws and certified Seaqual™-fibers recycled from plastic waste from the oceans.
