Vienna Insight: Seen on a Fashion.at tour through the city in search of what is happening in old and new places like the restaurant '404 - Don't Ask Why'

Vienna is back again! But like every 'comeback' is not the simple copy of past times, even this 'comeback' reveals that the city has developed new interesting facets and isn't the same as before. It's not only the atmosphere that has changed. International tourists are still missing. Now, the Viennese population gets more visible - and audible like the 'wolf of the wall street' styled walkers who busily speak loud into their phones so that everybody knows that something great happens in this man's life. Then there are the ones who seem to continue the pandemic style with slowly walking and relaxing at park benches. Parts of the population seem to celebrate the comeback of a long gone time while others are living still in a pandemic presence, which means excluded from the 'normal' living, excluded simply because they have lost their business or job due to the lack of tourists or due to their activities in fields like international event management, etc.

Some gastronomy locations dependent on tourism were closed during the pandemic without any plans to re-open in future again. Others developed during the pandemic new strategies to deliver food. One of them is the Dots Group which operates several restaurants and bars in Vienna. The group recently opened a new restaurant in an around 100 years old location. The name of the restaurant references the error code 404 which appears when a requested page or file can't be found on a server. '404 - Don't Ask Why' is located vis à vis of the Vienna Secession (building of the art movement 'Vienna Secession') in an Art Deco building former owned by an international gambling company. The name of the building is now 'Kleines Haus der Kunst' (translated 'Small House of Art') and will be used in future for cultural activities and exhibitions. The restaurant is dedicated to Italian cuisine with pizza made in an oven from Napoli and flour exclusively imported from Italy. The pizza makers, the Pizzaiolos, are dressed in outfits inspired by the Nintendo classic 'Super Mario Kart'. And playful is the concept also for visualizing the special delivery option, the Pizza-Drive-in with the car model of a Ferrari, on view at the image on this page.
